US promises to talk to Turkey about legitimate concerns

The U.S. wants Turkey to focus on fighting the Islamic State, but is promising to talk about legitimate concerns on the battlefield.

Turkey has been targeting Kurdish militias, which it considers terrorist groups, while the U.S. military has worked extensively with some peshmerga out of Kurdistan.

Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook promised continued cooperation with their stalwart ally.

US confirms strike against al-Adnani

The U.S. military is confirming they conducted a precision airstrike against Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, who was thought to be one of the lead strategists for the Islamic State.

The Russians they were the ones responsible for his death after a  Su-34 bomber raid on the village of Umm Hawsh, while the Americans say he was in al-Bab to the east.

Historic commercial US flight lands in Cuba

The first commercial air flight from the US to Cuba in more than a half-century has touched down on the island.

The US Transportation Secretary was among those onboard the JetBlue passenger plane from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Santa Clara.

American Airlines is expected to begin offering its own regularly scheduled services to Cuba in a few days time.

US to press to economic growth, limiting excess capacity at G20

The Obama administration wants to press for policies which will help boost the global economy at the upcoming G20 meetings in China.

But the U.S. also wants to address excess capacity - such as China's steel industry which creates far more steel than necessary.

Jeremy Corbyn looks set to win a landslide victory as he bids to be re-elected leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party.

This according to a new poll from YouGov which suggests the leftist candidate has a 24 point lead over his challenger Owen Smith.

Police Arrest Singer Chris Brown

Police arrested singer Chris Brown early Tuesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, after a women complained that he pointed a gun at her face. The arrest at Brown's Los Angeles home took place after a standoff with police that lasted for several hours.

UN weighs sanctions as report blames Syria for chemical weapons use

Russia has questioned a new United Nations report showing the Syria government used chemical weapons on its own people.

The Security Council are deciding if sanctions should be imposed, after hearing the joint report put together by the UN and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

The independent inquiry, which looked at nine incidents between 2014 and 2015, found the Syrian military used chlorine gas, while ISIS used sulfur mustard gas is separate attacks.
