U.S. sends Yemeni Guantanamo inmate to Italy

The United States has transferred a Yemeni inmate to Italy from its Guantanamo Bay prison.

President Barack Obama promised to close the prison during his first year of office, but seven years on 78 prisoners remain at the Cuban detention centre.

Tennis star Maria Sharapova will not compete in Rio

Downtown Dallas Reopens As Police Say Shooter Planned Larger Attack

Several buildings in the centre of Dallas are set to re-open this Monday, days after a sniper killed five of the US city's police officers during a Black Lives Matter protest last Thursday night.

There've been continued demonstrations across the US this weekend, as the Dallas police chief said that the shooter was planning an even larger attack.

Leadsom steps down from Conservative leadership race

UK Conservative Party leader hopeful Andrea Leadsom has stepped down from the leadership contest, saying she didn't believe she had the support needed to lead a strong and stable government.


Her decision to no longer run paves the way for Theresa May to become the UK's next Prime Minister, succeeding David Cameron.

The UK Chancellor George Osborne has said he wants to create a 'more outward-looking, global-facing Britain' following the country's vote to leave the European Union.
