Pres. Obama to meet Survivors of Orlando Shooting

Sir Cliff Richard sex abuse case dropped

Prosecutors in the UK say Sir Cliff Richard will face no further action over allegations of historical sexual abuse...

The Crown Prosecution Service says there is "insufficient evidence" relating to allegations from four men against the British singer between 1958 and 1983.

DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD

Every year since 1991 Africa recognises June 16th as the day of the African child.

The day is being marked this year with a report by the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, which is urging for more measures to be taken to protect the rights of children in Africa.

Lens and Lille tense ahead of England - Wales match amid fears of more unrest

The town of Lens in northern France is under pressure as England and Wales fans converge there for their Euro 2016 match.

At least 36 supporters were arrested overnight when they clashed with police in the nearby town of Lille.

Brexit campaigner in one week countdown

A group of former Conservative party leaders and former chancellors have accused Finance Minister George Osborne and the Bank of England of what they called "peddling phoney forecasts".

Animals predict German football triumph

WADA exposes 52 Russian athletes guilty of doping

A fresh report of the World Anti-Doping Agency (or WADA) revealed 52 Russian athletes have tested positive on fresh doping tests. It also states some 70 athletes evaded testing. The revelations may cast further doubt on whether Russia's athletics team may take part in this year's Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Daria Bondarchuk reports from the Russian Capital.

DOZENS ARRESTED AFTER FAN TROUBLE IN LILLE

At least 36 people have been arrested after trouble in the French city of Lille where fans are gathered for euro 2016 games.

The city has seen English, Welsh, Russian, Slovakian and French fans converging - leading to fears there would be violence.

But some supporters have again questioned French policing tactics which they say are making the situation worse.

French riot police repeatedly charged supporters in Lille to try and disperse them, firing tear gas.

Reporter Peter Allen is in Lille - he says advice from British police who are in the city appears to be falling on deaf ears.

US Navy Third Fleet sending more ships to patrol East Asia waters

The US Navy's Third Fleet will be deploying more ships to beef up U.S. presence in East Asia.


The decision comes as tensions between China and its neighbors rise over maritime disputes in the region.

Toddler's body found after alligator attack

Florida's Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said that the searchers had found the body of the toddler who was snatched by an alligator (Tuesday night). 

Authorities identified the missing kid, as Lane Graves of Nebraska.

Wife of Orlando Gunman May Face Charges

The wife of Omar Mateen who killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando may face charges over the attack.

Media reports indicate that she  had some knowledge of his plans and may have tried to talk  him out of it. 

Noor Salman also  reportedly accompanied her husband to the Pulse gay nightclub prior the attack.

Investigators say she is co-operating, but Lee Bentley, the US  Attorney  for the Middle District of Florida wouldn't confirm the reports....

Trump Says Arming of Orlando Clubgoers Could have Stopped "Carnage"

Kenya assures UN it will comply with international law in closing Dadaab refugee camp

Florida officials say alligator killed 2 year old boy at Disney World

A 2-year old boy who was seized by at alligator at a Disney resort in Florida is believed to have died.


The local sheriff says there is "no question" about the infant's fate.

US nitiates $250m Loan for Mobile Phone Development in Myanmar

The US government has initiated its first major private investment loan in Myanmar, the country formerly known as Burma.
