The former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has been sentenced to 40 years on charges of genocide and war crimes.
The allegations date back to 1995 and the violent collapse of Yugoslavia, though the political leader pleaded not guilty to the charges at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
