Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio each managed a win in weekend contests but going into the March 15 votes, Donald Trump is solidly in the lead.

Turnout high in German regional elections

High numbers of voters have turned out in Germany for regional elections, seen partly as a referendum on the country's refugee policy.

UK FINANCE MINISTER WARNS OF SPENDING CUTS BECAUSE OF GLOBAL ECONOMY

UK finance minister George Osborne has warned Britons of further austerity as he prepares to unveil his budget on Wednesday.

Chancellor Osborne's political opponents say further spending cuts will harm the economy.

But while the UK economy has been growing faster than many of its European allies, it is not as big as the government hoped it would be by early 2016.

UK correspondent Olly Barratt says Mr Osborne is therefore trying to use international pressures to explain why he may have to cut spending domestically.

UK elder statesmen assails Cameron over EU referendum

One of Britain's elder statesmen is warning that Prime Minister David Cameron could preside over the dismemberment of the country as a result of June's referendum on whether to stay in the European Union.

Lord Paddy Ashdown, former leader of the country's Liberal Democrats, said that David Cameron was "thoughtlessly" acting "on a whim" by calling the June 23rd referendum.

Lord Ashdown is campaigning to keep Britain within the European Union and he says the dangers of an exit are grave.

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan laid to rest

First Lady Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush joined mourners from Hollywood, Washington and around the world to pay their final respects to Nancy Reagan who was laid to rest on Friday in California. Carson endorses Trump

Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson has endorsed Donald Trump for president.

The retired neurosurgeon joins the ranks of businesswoman Carly Fiorina and New Jersey governor Chris Christie in endorsing the controversial Trump, after they themselves dropped out of the race.

Mr. Carson said he's seen "two Donald Trumps" - one who is bombastic on the stage, and the other who is more cerebral.
