UN hopes for a different result at Syrian talks paused

United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has put the talks in Geneva aimed at finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis on pause.

He says he saw no progress being made, but from London, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry issued a statement blaming the Assad regime for chosing a military solution, with support from their Russian allies.

UN officials are hoping for a different result, including Staffan de Mistura.

Bernie Sanders says he's all about change - CNN Townhall

Twelve Countries Sign Trans Pacific Partnership

Twelve countries have formally signed the ambitious Trans Pacific Partnership at a ceremony in New Zealand.

The trade deal  --- known as the TPP -- is meant to facilitate trade and investment between the signatories across the Pacific Rim.

Together they account for about 40 percent of the global economy.

Judge refuses to throw out sex assault case against Cosby

A judge has ruled that the criminal sexual assault case against American entertainer Bill Cosby will proceed.


The likelihood of a trial came into question when Cosby's lawyers argued that he couldn't be prosecuted due to an agreement reached with a former Pennsylvania district attorney.

Obama Rejects Anti-Muslim Rhetoric

President Barack Obama is urging politicians in the United States to avoid anti-Muslim rhetoric - arguing that it plays into the hands of Islamic State and other terrorist groups.

UN Suspends Syria Peace Talks

Intense fighting in Syria puts peace talks in jeopardy

A government offensive around the Syrian city of Aleppo is putting
United Nations backed peace talks in jeopardy.

GM Posts Record 2015 Profit

General Motors has posted a record profit for 2015, and says it plans to do even better this year.

The biggest US automaker earned 2.8 billion dollars in the fourth quarter of last year - exceeding Wall Street's expectations.

Red Cross Cautions Some Not to Give Blood, As More Zika Cases Pop Up

The American Red Cross is urging prospective blood donors to hold off donating for 28 days if they have recently visited Central or South America.

Cameron must now defend EU deal

British Prime Minister David Cameron will spend the day  defending  his hard won European Union reforms package to his own lawmakers after the deal with Brussels was announced Tuesday.
