CHINA'S ECONOMIC GROWTH SLOWS TO 25 YR LOW

China's economic growth has slowed to its lowest rate in 25 years, according to official figures.

The Chinese economy expanded 6.9% in 2015, according to authorities, down from 7.3% the previous year, and below the government's target.

Global stock markets have been volatile in recent weeks - partly as a result of concern about China's economy.

Beijing has denied suggestions its official growth figures are being inflated.

Danny Cox of stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdown says the numbers are better than some analysts had been expecting.
