UK BUDGET WEEK ADDS TO COALITION SPECULATION

The UK coalition government will deliver its final budget this week ahead of a general election still too close to call.

Conservative Finance Minister George Osborne is promising a 'no gimmicks' budget on Wednesday.

Polls suggest the Conservatives may win May's election in 51 days, but not by enough to secure a parliamentary majority.

This is leading to speculation the Conservative Party may have to involve the anti-EU, anti-immigration party UKIP in a coalition.

Joe Twyamn of pollsters YouGov says the public may end up with an even broader coalition than the UK's current government.

THREE BRITISH TEENAGERS BAILED AFTER 'SYRIA TRAVEL ARREST'

Three British teenagers who were detained in Turkey, accused of attempting to travel to Syria, have been released on bail.

Two 17 year-old boys from London, and a 19 year-old man were flown back to the UK on Saturday after Britain alerted Turkey.

They were arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts and have been bailed pending further inquiries.

British police had been contacted by the parents of the two younger teenagers after they didn't return home after Friday prayers.

Turkey says the trio had flown to Istanbul from Barcelona.

It follows the case of three British schoolgirls who traveled to Syria through Turkey, leading Britain and Turkey to accuse each other of not having done enough to stop them.

Dr Rizwaan Sabir, counter-terrorism expert at Edgehill University, says this case shows progress in terms of co-operation between the UK and Turkey.
