France prepares airline sector aid but does not expect mass cancellations

France is preparing aid measures for the airline sector, such as extended tax payment deadlines, but says it does not expect mass cancellations.

The French transport minister said on Friday he did not expect airlines to axe many routes this summer due to a jet fuel shortage.

Transavia France, a low-cost carrier in the Air France-KLM group, said on Friday that it had cancelled 2% of its flights in May and June.
