The Lebanese prime minister Nawaf Salam is meeting President Macron for talks in Paris.
His trip comes amid the ongoing Middle East crisis, and after the death in Lebanon of a French member of the UN peacekeeping mission.
Peace talks between Lebanon and Israel are also expected later this week in Washington.
