Red Storm Warning Issues For Parts Of UK and Ireland

A rare red 'danger to life' weather warning has been issued for parts of the UK.

Storm Éowyn (Ay-oh-win) is forecast to bring heavy rain and wind gusts of 100 miles per hour to Scotland and Northern Ireland tomorrow (Friday).

There are warnings of damage to buildings, schools have been urged to shut and significant travel disruption is expected.

Weather forecasts are saying it could be 'the storm of the century' for the Republic of Ireland, and people are being urged to stay at home.
