French PM faces no-confidence vote after major speech rejected by opposition

The French prime minister will face a no-confidence vote on Thursday, the first such motion against him since he was appointed last month.

François Bayrou's predecessor Michel Barnier was forced to step down in December after losing a non-confidence vote.
