European Commission sees "uncertainty" over U.S. commitment to supporting Ukraine

The European Commission says there is "uncertainty" over what stance U.S. President Donald Trump will take in relation to support for Ukraine.

In a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said Europe needs to step up its backing for Kyiv.

Responding to Zelensky's remarks, Valdis Dombrovkis - who's the European Commissioner for Economy and also in Davos - conceded that the E.U.'s relationship with Washington is in flux.
