Health officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo say 25 cases of a deadly strain of mpox have been detected in the eastern city of Goma. Most of the cases were found in camps housing people displaced by an armed conflict in North Kivu. The central African nation has recorded more than 11,000 cases of the disease formerly known as Monkeypox and 443 deaths this year.
