Biden refuses to drop re-election bid amid growing Democrat doubts

US President Joe Biden has given an almost hour-long press conference
in which he refused to suspend his reelection bid.

It comes as more lawmakers in his party raise concerns about his
mental fitness for the job.

He again stated that he was the "best qualified person" to lead the
Democratic ticket in November's election.

He was asked why he was not standing aside, and handing over to a
younger generation of Democrats.

He showed determination to stay in the race and prove he's up to the
job of another four years in office.

Earlier on Wednesday, he misspoke as he introduced the Ukrainian
president, instead referring to him as President Putin.
