US Supreme Court rules domestic abusers can't possess a gun

People under domestic violence restraining orders in the United States will be prevented from owning a gun following a Supreme Court ruling that upholds the protective law.

The statute had been challenged as being unconstitutional for violating the Second Amendment — the right to bear arms.

But on Friday, judges in the highest court in America voted to leave the safeguard in place, a decision that comes as a relief to gun control advocates nationwide.
