Trump doesn't take stand in hush money trial

Donald Trump will not testify in his hush money trial in New York City, despite previously pledging to do so.

The defence rested its case on Tuesday without the former US president taking the stand - triggering the final stages of the historic trial.

The jury has been dismissed until next Tuesday, when closing arguments are expected.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
