US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is in Israel to discuss
ceasefire talks and dissuade the Israeli military from launching a
full scale assault on Rafah.
The Biden administration is concerned about the hundreds of thousands
of Palestinian civilians who are sheltering in the area in the most
southerly point of the Gaza Strip.
It comes as Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz threatens to
resign if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not set out a
post-war plan.
