The Israeli military says it's taken operational control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah Crossing in southern Gaza, and says it's conducted "targeted strikes" in eastern Rafah.
This comes after Israel rejected Hamas' agreement to a ceasefire deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar saying the terms are unacceptable, with an Israeli delegation on the way to Cairo to negotiate further.
The UN has called for an agreement to be reached, warning of the humanitarian consequences of aid not being allowed through crossings into Gaza and of an Israeli assault on Rafah.
