Georgia hits back at US retaliation over controversial free speech law

Georgia's ruling party has accused the United States of pursuing a policy of "threats and blackmail" against the Eurasian nation.

It follows the US's decision to impose visa travel restrictions on 'Georgian Dream' Parliamentarians in retaliation to their controversial 'foreign agents' bill.

The law, passed last week, has sparked widespread domestic political protests in the Caucuses country, and it's led to the American government launching a review of bilateral cooperation between the two capitals.
