Nippon Steel faces presidential opposition to US Steel takeover

Nippon steel’s $14 billion acquisition of US Steel is coming under increased scrutiny as US President Joe Biden vows to block the deal. 

The Japanese company has responded to opposition from both Biden and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump by saying the purchase would benefit US workers.
