China may soon have a new ambassador to India.
Beijing has reportedly selected a two-time envoy to fill the post which has been lying vacant for over 15 months amid strained ties between the neighbouring countries over an ongoing border standoff.
There is, however, no official confirmation from either the Chinese embassy or India's foreign ministry.
