Ukraine accuses Russia of blowing up hydroelectric dam

Thousands of homes are at risk of flooding after the Ukrainian government accused Russia of blowing up a hydroelectric dam.

At least 16,000 people live in the affected area and are being evacuated.

The dam at Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson region supplies water to cool the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

Ukraine's nuclear energy body says the situation at the facility is under control but there could still be negative consequences.
