China defends its warship that crossed paths with a US military vessel

China has accused the US of provoking Beijing, as it defends its
sailing warship that crossed the path of an American destroyer in the
Taiwan strait.
The incident occurred on Saturday, as the American destroyer and a
Canadian frigate were conducting a so-called "freedom of navigation"
transit between Taiwan and mainland China.
