US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says there has been "no new movement"
towards agreeing a debt ceiling deal, following talks with President
Joe Biden.
The meeting at the White House comes ahead of a June 1st deadline,
when the US is expected to run out of money and be unable to pay its
debts.
The US Treasury has warned the country defaulting would trigger a
global economic "catastrophe".
Biden and McCarthy will meet again on Friday.
