Likely Impact Of The Trump Ruling?

The fallout is continuing after former US President Donald Trump was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll.

A New York jury in the civil trial ordered him to pay more than $5 million in damages. His lawyers have said he'll appeal.

There are now questions about the effect it could have on Trump's bid for the White House in 2024.

Some Republicans have expressed concern about the impact it could have on his wider appeal, but Sonia Sodha from The Observer newspaper thinks that the damage could be limited:
