US President Joe Biden says a deal on raising the debt ceiling won't
happen until he returns from his trip to Japan for the G7 summit.
Biden spoke to reporters before he left Washington on Wednesday morning.
He said he plans to hold a press conference on his return on Sunday.
He has cancelled the Australia leg of his trip to continue
negotiations on trying to raise the US's borrowing limit, to prevent
an unprecedented default.
