A Russian court has rejected the appeal of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. His lawyers were seeking for him to await trial under house arrest rather than in pre-trial detention. His court appearance was the first time he's been seen since he was arrested on espionage charges three weeks ago. The proceedings occurred behind closed doors.
