French president defiant in first media appearance since pension reform forced through parliament

The French president put on a show of defiance in what was his first media appearance since the government's controversial pension reform was forced through parliament last week.

Emmanuel Macron said he would not be rowing back on the changes - of which the headline policy is raising France's retirement age from 62 to 64.
