China is likely to be at the top of the agenda when Japan's Fumio Kishida meets with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
The Kishida government has called China Japan's biggest strategic threat - while Delhi has been engaged in a border stand-off with Beijing for more than two years now.
Analysts say the two countries are likely to focus on defense cooperation, as a deterrent to what they call Chinese aggression in the Indian ocean.
