US President Joe Biden has promised to modernize America's military
alliance with Japan following a meeting with Fumio Kishida in
Washington.
The Japanese Prime Minister has spent the week visiting G7 countries
as Tokyo looks to double defense spending to counter threats in the
Indo-Pacific.
However, the leader's visit was dominated by US domestic news
following the revelations this week of classified documents in
President Biden's possession.
