US Congress unveils $1.7 trillion spending bill in bid to avoid government shutdown

Democrat and Republican lawmakers have unveiled a $1.7 trillion deal to fund the US government through most of 2023.


They released the more than 4000 page long document in the early hours of Tuesday morning leaving Congress little time to review its contents before they must vote on it to avoid a government shutdown.
