Scientists in the United States have taken a giant leap toward supporting human outposts on other worlds after growing plants in lunar soil for the first time.
A team from the University of Florida announced that seeds successfully sprouted from cress planted in moon dust collected by Apollo 11's Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, and by other moonwalkers decades ago.
