1.8 million tons of wheat stuck at Indian ports as Delhi imposes snap ban on exports

India's wheat export ban has trapped some 1.8 million tonnes of grain at ports – leaving traders and wheat importing countries in a lurch.

India had earlier plans to export 10 million tonnes of wheat this year.

But a crippling heatwave and rising domestic prices of wheat have forced authorities to make a U-turn.
