Madeleine Albright, America's first female secretary of State has died at the age of 84.
She'd been battling cancer.
Born in Czechoslovakia, her family moved to the United States when she was just 11 after fleeing first the Nazis and then the Communists.
President Bill Clinton appointed her to be America's Ambassador to the United Nations, and then promoted her to the State Department.
She was a proponent of NATO expansion, and urged the White House to take a stronger position on the conflict in Bosnia.
