The Japanese government has said it will carefully consider South Korea's application to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The announcement from Seoul has sparked opposition among domestic agricultural organisations at a time when relations between the two countries are close to an all-time low.
