Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen (PRON: HOW-GUN) has offered a blistering critique of her former employer during Congressional testimony in Washington.
The data scientist who made copies of tens of thousands of pages of internal Facebook documents while she worked for the social media giant told a Senate Committee the company is aware of the pernicious nature of its platform, prioritizes profits over the urgent need to suppress misinformation and now requires government regulation.

A Facebook spokeswoman says it simply untrue to claim the company encourages bad content, and a spokeswoman insists the conglomerate is trying to tackle the spread of misinformation.
