China has reacted with fury at a speech delivered by Taiwan's president Tsai Ing-wen at the island's National Day Rally.
Tsai says that nobody can force the island to accept Chinese rule, as it offers neither freedom nor democracy.
This comes as the self-ruled island faces growing military and political pressure from Beijing, which claims Taiwan as its own territory.
