US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the Taliban is preventing
charter flights from leaving Afghanistan.
The Taliban had previously promised to allow US citizens and Afghans
to leave the country if they wished.
Without a US military or diplomatic presence in the country it's
unclear how the US will ensure the Taliban uphold its commitments.
Blinken spoke to reporters in Germany after leading a 20-nation
virtual summit to coordinate pressure against the Taliban.
