Syria's President Bashar al-Asaad made a surprise visit to the Kremlin on Monday to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, and thank him for Russia's help in bringing the vast majority of Syria back under government control.
With the Russian Defence Minister and Syrian Foreign Minister, they discussed how Moscow can continue to support Assad as he attempts to subdue the few remaining armed opposition fighters.
