Job vacancies have hit a record high in the UK, rising above one million in the three months to August for the first time since records began.
Figures show employee numbers are roughly back at pre-Covid levels in much of the country, according to the Office for National Statistics.
But the news is dampened by fears of stock and staff shortfalls.
