Japan PM hopefuls divided over nuclear energy

Two of the four contenders in the race to become Japan's next PM have called on expanding nuclear energy as part of efforts to work towards decarbonisation.


The country has set a goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, but nuclear power is a contentious issue among the public.
