Hong Kong government disqualifies councillors over "questionable" oaths

The Hong Kong government has disqualified seven district councillors, after ruling that their mandatory pledges of allegiance to the city's constitution were invalid.

The pledge is required as part of political reforms imposed by Beijing. 

Critics say it's an effort to stifle political opposition.
