ECOWAS imposes stiffer sanctions against Guinea and demands return to civilian rule within six months.

The regional bloc, ECOWAS has also imposed stiffer sanctions including travel ban against the junta leaders and threatened to apply the same sanctions to Mali if the country fails to hold elections early next year.
