Shell Petroleum to Pay 111 Million Dollars Compensation to Nigerian Community Over Oil Spill

A community in Nigeria's oil rich state of Rivers is to be paid over 100 million dollars by multinational oil giant, Shell Petroleum Development Company.

 

It is compensation over a spill during the civil war that spanned between 1967 to 1970 in the country.
