INTRO:
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, UNESCO, has removed Salonga national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo from its list of threatened sites.
The decision follows the DRC government's ban on oil drilling and other conservation efforts taken to improve the situation of wildlife in the park.
