Former French president appears in court for second time this year

The former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has appeared in court for the second time this year, as he stands trial for illegal campaign financing.

The 66-year-old, who was France's president from 2007 to 2012, denied being responsible for massive overspending on his failed re-election bid.
