INTRO:
Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have seized 31 kilograms of gold from smugglers in the northeast of the country.
The gold, worth 1.9 million U.S. dollars, originated from a mine in the Okapi Wildlife Reserve. Tonnes of gold from conflict zones in eastern DRC is smuggled to neighbouring countries and exported to the global market every year. Chris Ocamringa has more from Kinshasa....
