UN members again push for Israeli and Palestinian deescalation

United Nations members are again pushing for Israel and the
Palestinians to deescalate violence that has now carried into a second
week.

The Security Council has met several times since the fighting
intensified but has been unable to speak with a unified voice.

More than 200 people in Gaza and at least a dozen in Israel have been killed.
