President tells Netanyahu to begin "significant de-escalation"

US President Joe Biden has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu he "expects a significant de-escalation" today.

However, he again stopped short of calling directly for a ceasefire in
the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
